AV House is a major renovation project. The original single-story building is converted into a new two-storey house.

 

The idea was to retain most of the original building’s wall to reduce cost while also providing a completely new look and spatial experience into the house.

 

A double-height living room on the lower floor forms the central part of the house. Private spaces such as bedrooms and a work/study area are positioned on the second floor. A void overlooking the living room is positioned next to the work/study area, providing a connection between the lower and upper floors.

 

An open to sky space at the back of the house enables natural cross ventilation for the main living room and provides natural lighting to the bedrooms.
